    1. We have lots of regular blue jays down here in southern Maine. Gray jays live up in the North woods, as well. A whole lot of Maine is still forest, thank goodness.

  3. That's a very long lived jay (or very small trees!).

  4. I could see the jays stowing acorns under the large white pine in our backyard every fall. The next year, tiny trees would come up. We moved several red oaks back to the edge of the woods. By the time we moved, two of them were getting quite tall.
